WHAT CANINE CULTURE IS ABOUT
Hi, my name is Mary and I’m the owner/operator of Canine Culture.
The aim of Canine Culture is to give you and your pet a convenient and stress-free grooming experience. I bring the comforts and amenities of a grooming salon to the privacy and convenience of your home.
My fully equipped, self-contained trailer, with state of the art grooming equipment is designed to achieve maximum comfort, convenience and safety for your pet.
The Canine Culture mobile grooming trailer is climate-controlled so your dogs and cats will be warm in winter and cool in summer.
Regular grooming for your pets is not simply a luxury expense, it’s a necessary investment in the ongoing health and well-being of your pet so ensure it’s hassle free and let me come to you. You don’t even need to be home! Once I have been to your home and am introduced to your grooming pets, there is no need for you to be home for future appointments. Simply allow me access to your pet and when you return home from work or wherever you may be, voila! Fresh pet!
There are a few requirements for Canine Culture to attend your home and groom your pet/s.
Firstly, a driveway clearance of at least 3m wide, with no branches that may cause damage to my trailer please. If I don’t have clear access, then I cannot attend your home. While I am self-contained, it is more for back up. Therefore, I require access to a tap for water (which will then be heated with a gas califont on my trailer) and a power point for electricity. I carry 30m leads so need to be able to park within that range. I also need a fairly flat area to park my trailer for the duration of the groom.
A little about me-
I have 20 plus years’ experience working with animals, so rest assured your pet is in capable hands.
I grew up on a sheep and beef farm, mustering on horseback with several dogs at our side, doing the real work, which shaped my passion for working with animals.
Since then, I have worked with animals in varying capacities including at Sea World Australia, Animal Welfare League QLD, Animal Aid Victoria and for Local Government in Australia.
In 2013 through the National Dog Trainers Federation (Australia) I became qualified in dog training and behaviour.
I have attended regular first aid training for cats and dogs.
In 2022 I attended groomer training in Melbourne at the Dog Diversity grooming school, have attended cat groomer training, and continue to attend training and seminars regularly to ensure I’m learning new skills and methods.
Grooming for a dog is like going to a Dentist for humans. It’s not enjoyable but it’s necessary.
I work with the dog, have treats on hand, and create positive associations during the process to set the dog up for a future of successful grooms.
Dogs are highly intelligent, intuitive creatures and respond to our energy.
I keep a calm environment and take my time rather than rush to get the job finished and move on to the next. If a dog in my care needs a break, we will stop for a walk/toilet/run or play to reset and continue. This method, combined with grooming at your home, is particularly ideal for anxious dogs.
